Student/Educator Tickets for Romeo and Juliet on Broadway

This is awesome news for students and educators looking to see such an exciting revival. David Leveaux is bound to craft a smart and gorgeous revival, and allowing 100 $20 tickets to be purchased IN ADVANCE is a smart and gracious tool from the producing team.

The opening of the Romeo and Juliet box office marks the launch of the production’s Student Ticket Program; 100 tickets per performance will be set aside at $20 for students and educators. Instead of a lottery or rush program, which require waiting in line, these tickets will be available for purchase in advance at the box office with valid ID. Students can be verified in advance to order tickets online, exclusively through TIX4STUDENTS.COM. Limit of two tickets per order; price does not include facility fee.

This production will mark the first time in 36 years that the play will be produced for Broadway. This version of the classic tale, according to press notes, "will retain Shakespeare’s original language but have a modern setting in which members of the Montague family will be white, and the Capulet family will be black."

Complete casting has been announced for the Broadway revival of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, which will begin previews Aug. 24 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre; the box office at the Rodgers opens for business July 22.

The production, which will officially open Sept. 29, will feature international film star Orlando Bloom and two-time Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad as the titular star-crossed lovers. Five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux directs.
